The largest selection of Christmas trees in the Bay Area means the best selection of tree types!  Santa's Coliseum lets you select from your choice of trees.  You pick the type, size, and style of tree that best suits your preferences, location and budget.

Douglas fir is the Christmas tree most people think of first, since it is the typical type sold almost everywhere.  It is shipped to the majority of the states and is also exported to the Pacific Islands and some Asian markets. On the farm, Douglas firs can grow over a wider range of conditions than other species, and because they grow more quickly than the true firs, the Douglas fir is a mid-priced Christmas tree offering good value. Douglas firs are popular for their dense, bushy shape and fine, soft, dark green or blue green needles that radiate out in all directions from the branch. They have a sweet piney scent that seems to last through the entire Christmas season. Top of Page

Frazier Fir is the most popular of all Christmas Trees nationally at this time.  It is a uniformly pyramid-shaped tree with strong branches turned slightly upward, giving the tree a compact appearance.  The Fraser fir has silverish, green needles top side with silver underneath. It holds needles the longest of all the trees, yet is not prickly.  Related to the northern Balsam fir, its fragrance is lovely.  Top of Page

Frijsenborg Blue Fir is a Noble Fir that has been selectively developed in Denmark for its unique blue-green color and layered branches.  This sturdy tree has superior needle retention, survives well even in hot weather, and has strong, upright branches to display your chosen ornaments.  Our trees are hand-cultured to a pristine shape and balance, to grace any home in which they are placed.  Top of Page

Grand Fir, while still relatively less known as a Christmas tree, produces a spectacular and lush holiday display, so is growing in popularity.  Grand Fir needles are a lustrous dark green color with silvery undersides, and a shiny appearance that reflect the Christmas tree lights for a beautiful effect. It is the most fragrant Christmas tree with a powerful citrus-like evergreen scent which is enhanced in the warmth of the tree’s lights.

Northwest native Americans used Grand Fir foliage and branches for such purposes as shamanic headdresses, costumes and purification rites; incense, medicinal tea and decorative clothing; occasionally for fuel, canoes, dye or even as a deodorant and balding preventative.  Top of Page

Noble Fir is the most requested Christmas tree for both our residential and our commercial installations.  The tree is outstandingly beautiful, with a symmetrical shape and evenly spaced, layered branches.  The Noble Fir has a very has a long cut life, by retaining its needles and maintaining its freshness.  Its beautiful soft, blue-green, needles on strong branches provide a perfect foil for heavy ornaments.  Because the lower surface of branches and needles are upturned, they expose the white underside of the needles, closely resembling the popular “silver tip”.  The Noble Fir is also widely used to make wreaths, door swags, garland and other Christmas products.  Top of Page

Nordmann Fir is a new type of Christmas tree in America, but has been used for many years in Europe.  Through recent improved production methods, absolutely beautiful trees have been grown domestically that look like the ideal Christmas tree.  Nordmann Firs have beautiful soft, shiny needles with a deep green color. Their evenly spaced, strong branches will support your heaviest ornaments, and they will stay fresh and beautiful through the entire holiday season.  Since the Nordmann Fir is still so new to the market, yet such a perfect tree, and Santa’s Coliseum is one of the few places where this tree can be found, we know they will go quickly.  We hope you can come in early to be one of the first to display this lovely Christmas tree.  Top of Page

Our Pine is a true pine and is extremely hardy. It is not native to America, but  originally imported from Europe.  The Pine tree has stiff branches, and dark green needles that do not drop even when dry.
