Majestyk Mountain Tree Farm

Our
Tree Farm
The Santa’s Coliseum family
carefully tends to our 133 acres of Christmas tree farms in Washington
year-round to bring you the freshest, most beautiful trees in the San
Francisco Bay Area. It is a labor of love, knowing that we are sharing
with our Bay Area friends the joyous sights, sounds and scents of an
old-time Christmas, and creating cherished memories for the future. How
can taking a dusty, foreign-made, artificial tree out of a box in the
basement ever compare to seeing your children running through a forest of
fragrant, freshly cut, soft green trees, choosing just the right one for
their family’s holiday festivities?
Seed Farm – Grow Your Own Christmas Trees!
Santa’s Coliseum has a seed orchard
at our Majestyk Mountain Tree Farm from select trees. These choice
seeds originated in the Cascade Range area and have a superior germination
rate of over 70%. We harvest, process and store the premium cones in a
specially designed, controlled temperature facility. It is from these
seeds that we grow the beautiful, full, hardy Noble Fir trees you will
find at the Santa’s Coliseum Christmas Trees locations.
Our premium seeds are available for sale
to you in quantities from five (5) lbs. up to fifty (50) lbs. purchases
(with a seed count of approximately 11,630 per pound).
To order and arrange shipping, please call: Jeffery Wiemken at 360-281-3932 cell or 360-835-0886 office.
Environmental Support
Did you know that by buying a real
Santa’s Coliseum Christmas tree you are also supporting the
environment? Christmas trees are a true conservation crop.
Our Christmas Trees are grown on soil that doesn't support other crops.
Christmas Trees stabilize soil, protect water supplies and provide refuge
for wildlife while creating scenic green belts.
By replacing annual crops that require
plowing, disking, and harrowing each year, the longer Christmas tree crop
cycle of eight to ten years provides many avenues for environmental
improvements, which allow the land to rebound and diversify.
Christmas
trees are pruned by hand every summer, depositing large quantities of
twigs and needles onto the ground, which combine over the years with other
organic matter to enrich the soil. The shade from the Christmas trees
helps reduce soil evaporation, offers refuge for small birds, rodents and
other mammals. While
they're growing, Christmas trees support life by absorbing carbon dioxide
and other gases and emitting fresh oxygen. An acre of Christmas trees will
produce enough daily oxygen for 18 people.
Considering that
in the United States
there are approximately 500,000 acres of Christmas trees, this
means that about 9 million people a day are supplied with oxygen thanks to
these trees.
Finally, Christmas trees are recyclable
and renewable. For
every Christmas tree
harvested, seedlings are planted in its place the following spring. After
the holiday season, Christmas tree consumers, growers and vendors can
donate the used trees to
recycling programs for uses such as composting and even special food
treats for elephants and other large zoo herbivores!
Please don't try this with artificial trees which could contain
non-biodegradable
plastics and possible metal toxins such as lead!
Employment Generation
Because Christmas tree farming is so labor
intensive, it generates strong, stable employment in rural areas, while at
the same time reducing the amount of heavy equipment usage on that land.
About 21,000 Christmas Tree growers in the
U.S.
provide employment for over 100,000 people full or part-time.
